Trump Opposed by Organized Disrupters, STOP THE VIOLENCE AMERICANS!

Our daughter texted us from Ohio. "We are driving by the Ohio airport where Don Trump is and there is a huge traffic jam. Looks like there is a crowd of protesters." she texted.  We were a bit concerned for her safety and were pleased when she drove on past that location.

Earlier, Don Trump's Chicago rally had been cancelled because of loud protests which devolved into violence and we thought it curious that this was happening in Ohio, the same day.  As we researched we found that a group of activists in Chicago had pulled together an unlikely group cobbled together with black activists, Muslims and Latinos. Of course it included angry women and immigrants. This group included people who seemed angry, and who had experience in demonstrations from diverse political parties. Muslims who don't really love America particularly are mad at Trump, but so are illegal aliens from Latin America. So the source and motivations for these disruptors are shadowy and mixed. But they were tracking Trump's schedule and were determined to disrupt his events, aggressively. Senator Rubio commented the following Sunday morning on ABC-TV  that "These demonstrations to disrupt were organized and financed."   By who? It seems that the establishment Republicans oppose and fear a successful Trump campaign more than Democrats. Indeed the Trump campaign seems to be helping the chances of a Clinton or Sanders victory.  So, to protest or try to block Trump efforts would be counter intuitive for Democrats.  The people most energized in opposing Trump at this point, are those who fear change in the Republican Party.  One official Republican said: "Perhaps we better just fold the Republican party up, and start all over." in response to the Trump campaign.

The violence seen at the Trump events represents a new page in American politics.  There have always been political pranks. There have always been "one or two" demonstrators that hoot and yell during a speech. Obama in his many venues as President, has keenly handled them by repeatedly saying: "Ok we heard you, now it is my turn to speak and your turn to listen". I have never heard of his guards or audience members punching someone in the face.  But these demonstrations at Trump events, with an orchestrated group, aggressive and baiting for violence, is different. For example this coalition from Chicago, is another mile marker (a bad sign) for politics in the USA.

The result at the Trump events was that the louder and more disruptive the disruptive group was, the more irritated the invited crowd became, bringing on arguments and violence. The disruptive group created an organized effort to create conflict.  It was fascinating to watch the "disruptors" yelling, blocking cameras with signs and one even making his way through the crowd as if to physically attack Trump. He was immediately handled by secret service guards, but the moment electrified the audience.

The  result of the demonstrators was to energize Trump supporters all on live TV. Hearts were beating fast and adrenaline flowing as security guards, the FBI and Secret Service guards surrounded Trump, and took the problem away.  Trump's event was rallied. Trump said; "Aren't my political rallies fun, nothing like them." and the crowd cheered with gusto.  The problems I fear, and every American citizen should be concerned about, is an event environment that seems to condone aggressive, violent behavior.  These things can easily hit "flash points" and explode into mob violence that is dangerous.  This we have never condoned in the United States and our political process has always sought intellect vs brute force in our election process.

I am not endorsing Trump, or any other candidate in this article. But I do find these "organized" disruptions, intent on creating violence so as to disable or discredit a political candidate un-American, unwise, despicable and dangerous. Creative conflict leads to violence and people can die as a result. Our genius as a nation has been "Freedom of Speech".  But that freedom has always been surrounded by the idea of respect for others.  My wife, born in Iran, knows the dangers of violence in politics. She saw her homeland terrorized by Iranian "Guards" who during Iran's Revolution learned to use organized force, violence, terror and even murder to quell freedoms in that nation. The main target they had was to suppress freedom of speech.  My wife saw people stoned and hung in city centers of Iran. When she saw news reports of the Trump rally in Ohio and the violence of the protesters and Trump people, she said: "Oh my gosh. It was just like this in the beginning of the revolution in Iran".

Our nation, our people, should be better, we need to learn. Whether Democrat or Republican, Liberal or Conservative, Americans should act like Americans. We should demonstrate respect, freedoms, peace and tolerance in our political discourse.  Some blame Trump for rhetoric that is igniting anger and division. But no one can deny the danger of people going to a mass meeting with the intent to interrupt, disrupt and even fight. Some of these demonstrators obviously wanted to agitate and anger people so much that they would be "hit" or attacked so as to create an image for the press.  Trump and his supporters, should not be "baited" and Trump people should not respond with violence as it seems that they are prone to do. Also Trump should not challenge or almost dare the crazies to come forth.  Both sides are negative and dangerous. We need to teach this generation that Americans do not create violence for political goals.

My wife, watching these events said: "Violence begets violence, leading to death and often destruction of democracy. Don't these people know this?"

Ever wonder that in Syria, the ongoing violence and death seems to never end?  They have not learned the way to deal with conflict peacefully. Every wonder why there are over 600 conflicts or wars in the world today?  Because people have not embraced the skills of peaceful resolution of conflict.

Cool it, Everyone.

Fellow Americans.  We are a good nation, our nation is founded on moral and ethical principals of integrity and mutual respect.  Lets make this political period a time to show our best ethics, our best ideals. Let's not devolve into a mob society, and exchange political discourse for punches and violence. We at BootheGlobalPerspectives urge you to bring the "better nature" of being American, back to the forefront of our political discourse.
