EXCLUSIVE: He showed up a couple of times on Parks And Recreation, and today Vice President Joe Biden gave his support to Amy Poehler’s former Saturday Night Live co-star and Golden Globes co-host Tina Fey. Just now, the Hollywood-friendly Veep dropped into a screening for Fey’s upcoming Whiskey Tango Foxtrot at the U.S. Navy Memorial in Washington D.C., sources tell me. (Well, dropped into the lobby of the Memorial’s Burke Theater as much as one can when you’re a heartbeat away from the presidency and surrounded by Secret Service 24/7.)
Not on any official schedule, Biden’s appearance at the screening of the Paramount-distributed film was kept secret in the nation’s often-porous capital. Secretary of State John Kerry, who is fourth in line for the presidency under the Constitution, is also at the event, as is Jill Biden.
Hosted by Biden’s old buddy and current MPAA chief Chris Dodd and Viacom EVP Global Government Affairs Dede Lea, the invite-only screening has SNL boss and the film’s producer Lorne Michaels and screenwriter Robert Carlock on hand too.
The comedy based on Kim Barker’s memoir The Taliban Shuffle: Strange Days In Afghanistan And Pakistan also stars Margot Robbie and Martin Freeman. After a string of exclusive screenings like today and on Sunday night in New York hosted by Diane Sawyer and Ann Curry, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot opens nation-wide March 4.
BGP Comment: Another VIP screening also took place in New York City, with celebrities, and the Regal Winrock hosts an exclusive VIP Screening in Albuquerque, NM (New Mexico is where the movie was filmed) February 28th, at 3 and 6 P.M. Saneh Boothe and many other New Mexico actors have been invited along with New Mexico's celebrity VIP crowd. "I was thrilled to play a small part in this movie, to meet and work with Tina Fey, and to experience the first class productivity of Paramount." said Saneh Boothe.
"Also, I have long admired Joe Biden and John Kerry, we appreciate their support for this film. They have both been to Afghanistan many times, and appreciate the humerus insights of working in Afghanistan." said Saneh Boothe, Actress. (She played the part of an Afghan woman, angry at Tina Fey, when the wind blows Tina Fey's scarf off.) Tina Fey in the movie says: "What is that about?" and the guide interpreter says: "WELCOME TO AFGHANISTAN!" It is an insightful laugh line that says much, and also has been viewed on the movie trailer over 4,000,000 times, setting a funny and energetic tone for the movie.
Saneh Boothe, actress located in New Mexico performed in Whiskey Tango Foxtrot and praises Tina Fey and Paramount Movies. Saneh has done numerous films, international commercials, and multi cultural parts, as a Middle Easterner, American Indian, Latino, American and works for international diversity for actors, children and women.
